This is pathetic...
« on: March 16, 2005, 04:12:02 am »
I asked a question to the advisor, and I was waiting for 15 minutes, then i went to the plaza and they said \"No one wants to answer Sengi\'s question lol\" and \"Because its retarded\" and they were all goofing off trying to see who could spin the fastest when they hit the left/right arrow key for a long time, you need some professional advisors, thats pathetic.

Unfortuantely anyone can be an advisor right now, there isn\'t very much quality control... GM\'s however have to be accepted by the staff. In theory you could write down the names of people who offended you and report them to a GM when you find one.

Heh, i forget by now though, but cant they make it so only GM\'s are advisors, i had a really good advisor at first, i think he was a GM, but then it said that my questions will be answered by a different advisor for some reason, and then when i asked they just called my question retarded, etc.

Yes, yes, they\'re pathetic for not taking time to answer your question that they are in no way obliged or even rewarded to do.  Not to mention they probably don\'t even know the answer as it\'s incredibly hard to keep up-to-date.  Maybe you should try to help out yourself instead of constantly bitching about it.

I don\'t always \"peanut\" about it, i just needed to know about combining glyphs since i just got my first glyph, before i combined them i wanted to know if i was just making them look cooler or actually making them stronger

That\'s what experimentation is for. Assuming you ever find a combination that is.

EDIT: oops forgot to make a relation, advisors are just volunteers, if every advisor was dead serious then they might even shout at your for not trying before asking... Least this is what\'s crossing my mind.

I like taking things literally, going overboard is fun! Now... why do I keep getting odd looks?

What does that have to do with my post?  I didn\'t ask what your complication was, because it really doesn\'t matter or change anything.

The only advice i can give is to be nice to people who are giving you help- as Kiern pointed out it\'s not liek they are getting paid to advise, they do it just out of kindness. Likely some advisors have crakced from not being apreciated and starting giving out bad advice- so be nice to your advisor and everyone will be happy.
Oh, and they better not make it so only gm\'s can advise- then no one would ever anser the help channel. Not to mention, most of the GM\'s were formerly just advisors.
Can\'t we all just get along?  :]

Just get to know the olbees and ask one of them if you see them around. They will prove to be more helpful than any advisor.

If we made advising GM-Only, we\'d run out of new GMs, because we pick them from the advisor system. Currently, that\'s a bad thing (bad that we would run out of new GMs, and also bad that we pick them from the advisor system in the first place).

In regards to your first post, not everyone who has \"advisormode on\" is being an advisor. Just because they saw your question go unanswered, and made comments about it, doesn\'t mean they are advisors at all.

And finally, if you wish to complain, don\'t do it on the forum. Two reasons:

1. It creates an endless, pointless discussion between users

2. The admins will never read it.
