I think it would be quite good idea, but wouldnt the seas be full of ships then.. But there could be some nice islands in that sea, if it is going to be made

Here is an idea. Guild ships! instead of halls or castles a ship so the whole guild can sail about together.

How will the magic portal work? What if your not a mage and can\'t work it? I think we should have a NPC working the portals, and we would have to pay to use them, unless you have enough magic skill and you could use them yourself of course.

[now that CB is released... from what I read CB wasn\'t at the time this was said
the Death Realm exit is a Portal just to get back to the plaza, no one needs magic...
The portals that already exist shouldn\'t require any magic to go through... but players could cast portals and those yes, should require skills to do them and... like a teleport to the friends, \'coz I hope there0ll be a spell to teleport...

Also, we still have the surface, the giant cave where Yliakum is, and other stuff oif the devs bother to do these... There can be oceans there... where we may have ships and other sea stuff...

There could be some steam puck stuff too... like flying ships (either by magic or by some baloons instead of sails). Steam punk stuff that adapt to this world (usually steam punk adapts to mediaval fantasy games)

EDIT: oops didn\'t notice there was a 2nd page... *reads it

Ok, read the 2nd page and here are more things to say:

As Sensotaka said, Yliakum is known world, not the whole world... as I said before there is the surface, the giant cave Yliakum is and as someone suggested another stalagtite near Yliakum all with water (Nolthrir paradise!!!)

Remember the PS history? You know another God helped Laanx and Talad to build Yliakum (as someone said) the portals they used to bring people may still be open... if an adventurer discovers them (Headlines: New World Found!!!), the place where Nolthrirs came and where the other species came have water for sure...

well... don\'t remember anything more... [also I\'m sleepy, it\'s dificult to think]

Wow...this is an old thread. I remember reading it months ago. But, I thought I could add my own warped thread to the mix. My thread, also old.

And for how I applied it: RP/Storywriting Forum, \'Chain of Souls\', second page, 12th chapter, \'Out of the Mist\', halfway through.

I got tired of people saying \'absolutely NO ships in PS\' on one side, and the \'ships are so cool, I wana be a pirate\' on the other, so I made up my own, very do-able scenario. Then I added it to my story to prove a point. Turned out very nice, if I do say so myself. :]

There are uses for ships that air travel will not be able to reasonably replace, mainly that they can transport large numbers of troops and their supplies quickly and efficiently, or carry large amounts of cargo from port to port gaining wealth from trade. The weight constraints that will be in place for boarding Pterosaurs and Megaras will mean they are both impractical and too expensive for moving around armies or goods.

You also cant attach rams, catapaults, cannons and the like to anything that flies, but a ship can handle these with ease.. bombarding defenseless coastal villages with balls of flaming pitch and a deadly hail of arrows before storming ashore and engaging in the time-honoured tradition of ransacking, burning and pillaging would be great..

I dont know if the \'seas\' will be deep enough to harbour kraken, great sea serpents, giant sharks and other beasties, but with a few nifty summoning glyphs you could probably conjure up a few nasty things with lots of teeth and a bad disposition.

mmm... you made a point there...
But I\'m already seeing ppl reply \"Ah, there are the magic portals and all that\" or \"It\'s a magical world, we can levitate all that and put it in the place we want\" or other stuff...
The devs want the game to be a little realistic, so, by Tharizdun way of thinking, they may be implemented...
