Ah, fellow mac user, excellent (rolls fingers together).
Advice? Um, read the guide before making a character, choose a race that fits what you like and how you roleplay, i.e. Kran for brute strength, Dermorians for magic etc. but understand that to begin with, you start with nothing, and must kill rats. I suggest in creating your character to spend a long time going through each of the parent\'s characteristics, your life events and other things and roleplay with those...makes the game much more fun.
Also, please don\'t run around the plaza yelling for freebies like a Noob...very irritating and will not get a good response. Make friends, strike up a conversation in the tavern over some ale... Then perhaps someone will help you out.
Finally, you may be tempted to join a guild straight away...don\'t... until you have read about the guild and if it works for your character. Though there is no official lawful-chaotic and good-evil ranking in the game, guilds tend to follow this pattern, read their manifestos on their sites. Go to
http://tavern.blueglyph.net/index.php if you haven\'t already.
The mac client as you know doesn\'t work at the moment, so you have a while to reflect on characters and your roleplaying, and to read about guilds. Hopefully dfryer will get the client up soon.
Enjoy Yliakum,
Xirius
