Try going in your Planeshift/data folder and editing prefs.xml. If any of the values there are black (0,0,0), change them to whatever colour you want (white is 255,255,255).
Havn\'t tested that this is the right file, myself. If it doesn\'t work, explore the other xmls and see if you can find one that works.
