This might be more a tech help thing, but my first impression was that this was the place for it.

The first one I get I get on the first loading screen. The orange-y brown one with the three faces, you know? The message said:
\"Display change gave unknown error, no hardware accelleration. crystalspace.canvas.openglwn\"
That\'s almost exactly it, but it only appears for a moment. I\'m not sure the last bit\'s spelled right. It\'s in a faded-yellow bar across the top. After it dissapears, it loads seemingly normally.

The second message appears after I log in and everything when it\'s trying to load up the world and stuff. That one says:
\"Runtime error
Program: C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue\\psclient.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application\'s support team for more information.\"

The second message is followed closely by this one:
\"The application failed to initialise properly (0x0000017) Click OK to terminate the application.\"
That one might not be written properly either. I have trouble reading numbers, I think it\'s a weird little form of dyslexia or something. After clicking OK, the program exits. The last two happen at the same place during the loading, about 80-some percent through.

I did run the updater, at least I tried. I don\'t quite get the whole updater thing. The top bar get to 100%, the bottom one does nothing, I can\'t find anything else to do in the updater, so I exit.

Any suggestions?

Double posting is frowned upon...

Anyways, I think you may need to update...
If the updater doesn\'t work properly, you can try running it with the command -auto

Let me guess, you use Windows?

And which version of Planeshift is it? (0.3.010 is the correct and current version)
Crazy am I. Not responsable for crazyness that ensues.

Gee, I wonder what gave that away? :)

First, run updater (recovery mode).  If that shortcut is not there, add -auto to the target of your updater\'s shortcut like Darkblade advised.  That makes it so that only the command line interface version of the updater pops up.  Let it complete updating before trying to play PlaneShift.

If PlaneShift still crashes, try turning off the sound in the setup menu.
If it still crashes, post in this thread again with a detailed account of what happens.
Hope it works for you :)

A friend also once had the issue of that yellow bar on top of the loading screen. I said he needed to update his graphics card driver and after that all worked fine.
