Character Delete/Rename
« on: June 14, 2005, 07:29:55 pm »
The first time I played PS I was a little impatient to get to the actual game and choose one of the quick paths instead of going through the whole creation process. At the time I didn\'t realize you pretty much get screwed over stat-wise with the quickies.

I was wondering if I created a new character using the long way and had my original character deleted, could I have the second character renamed so I could keep my original name?

The name\'s not that important to me, but it would be nice none-the-less if I could keep it.

(And yes, I know this would be done via a Petition in-game.)

when the wipe comes all chars will be deleted, but...

now answering the thread i think (if i remember correctly) that on the latest cvs was added the ability to delete char, i guess this option will be now avaiable client side so this way you could delete your nonwanted char and make a new one with the same name as the previous but different skills.
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

\"(And yes, I know this would be done via a Petition in-game.)\"

So you posted a thread here because....? :P

Nilrem is correct, there should soon be a delete button at the character select screen. We didn\'t originally want to give people the power to delete their character, as it can sorely disrupt roleplay. However, I figure most people who delete their characters don\'t roleplay in the first place, so I\'m not bothered too much by it now. :)

I was told by a developer that it will be available in next client version.

I\'ve decided not to worry about it. I created a new character but the stats weren\'t all that much better than from the quickie, so I\'ll just stick with my first guy for now.
