time zone support
« on: January 10, 2005, 11:13:17 am »
When it says the \"server went down at 2:30\" that means nothing to me. What time zone was that person in? What time zone is the forum in? I can\'t see an option where I can change my timezone so that all the dates and times are shown in my local timezone (GMT+11:00)

Yea in what time is PS. I mean where are PS server\'s, in what timezone so we would knew when servers will go down if we ll see \"admin says: servers will go linkdead at 6 pm \"
There should be little clock in game or in PS www page showing us what time is it.

I give all times in GMT http://laanx.fragnetics.com/ should have most of the server news. ( Sometimes stuff goes on in the night when I am asleep though so I don\'t get a chance to update that page until it\'s too late :) )

Giving the server time in GMT is great, but I still have trouble working stuff out here on the forums. I\'ve used other forums where you can set your personal timezone and any date that is shown (user posts, etc) come up in your local time.

Time zone setting on the forums?

I agree, a time zone selectable from the profile menu would be a good addition.

Well, since there isn\'t one currently, you can just do a little adding and get the desired time. The posting times and the like on this Forum are all GMT-8, and wouldn\'t it be GMT-7 with Daylight Savings Time? I think the GMT-X changes here (USA) with Daylight Savings Time although I am not 100% sure. Right now, though, it is GMT-8 which is the Pacific Timezone in the USA. If you want a location, it is California, Oregon, Washington, etc. etc...

I hope that helps.

Unless they implement a time zone selection, then just use the location choice to identify your time zone.
