I was playing Planeshift when I got an error message saying that the connection was lost. The server has probably crashed or something. After that PlaneShift never loaded it... here\'s what happens

[root@localhost planeshift]# ./psclient

Hm, you would get more linux specific help in the linux forum, but crashng just after making a connection was caused by a bad art file- try running ./updater, it should fix that. And if the graphics seem off with that, or f it crashes even, use /updater -auto

xD. It wasnt until after I posted that I noticed it. Anyways, the updater seems to freeze at 12% either that or takes waaaaaay too long. ><

Make sure to run the updater in auto mode by typing ./updater --auto .
About the connection thing, I\'ve found my client won\'t get past the start screen if I\'m not connected to the internet, so double check that.
One more thing:  why are you running planeshift as root?  never do anything as root unless absolutley necessary.

Updater thing is described in \"Known problems\" and running Planeshift as root in \"FAQ\".
