Why is forum software being used for bug tracking?
« on: August 12, 2005, 09:14:17 pm »
I\'m a developer and I\'m wondering why forum software is being used for bug tracking for planeshift. It has to be a nightmare for the devlopers to manage.

Shouldn\'t sourceforge\'s bug tracker be used? If you don\'t like that, how about bugzilla or another open source equivalent (there are many nice ones)? I\'m a web developer (10+ years exp in software engineering with experience in java (my current focus), php, asp, perl, c, etc) and would be happy to install and configure something if developers want it...

Or, you could have just read the front page:

Though honestly, it is kind of good to have people post here.  It keeps the duplicate posts on bugtracker down.  :P

hehehe ... sorry about that.

I do see your point about the duplicate posts - definitely makes sense...
