A guild is an organization of five or more people with similar goals, ideas, perspectives, crafts, etc., who join together for need of mutual support, networking, friendship, power, etc.

A guild is what you make it.

Advantages may include, again, support, friendship, private tips and hints about Yliakum and its system, a sort of \"home,\" and the like. Disadvantages: er... responsibility? Your behavior may be used by others to judge the guild as a whole (though in all honesty, it never should). Lack of freedom, I suppose, since you will have jobs or tasks that guild leaders or overseers will impose on you. Participation in guild wars, if such ever arise.

Though keep in mind, this is only roleplay. (Well, minus the guild wars part. That\'s actually possible with current game mechanics.)

Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Thanks

It all depends on the guild :) I\'m sure the guild leaders would never impose anything on you that you aren\'t truly capable of doing. And nothing is timed unless it\'s known you\'ll be able to finish the required task. It\'s just how promotions work - very few guilds require an increase in skills to get a promotion, though such guilds do exist. Mostly promotions to higher ranks are based on your roleplaying ability, perhaps quests (whether actual in-game quests, or those set up by other guild members), maybe some hunts, and the like. Many promotional threads in the Guild Forums here offer descriptions of ranks and how their members may progress through them, along with a lot more info on how good guilds should be run. Give it a look through sometime, definitely :)
