a modest MOTD suggestion

Could the kind admin folks update the MOTD more frequently?

Example #1 -
Be aware that the server is laggy today.

Example #2 -
We\'re playing with weather effects today. You may experience reduced frame rates.

Example #3 -
We\'re having trouble with the NPC server, it is crashing occasionally.

Example #4 -
We\'ve resolved our recent problem with the NPC server!

I second this suggestion.  I know that everyone is volunteering their time here, and any time spent updating messages and the like is time spent not updating the game, fixing bugs, etc., but an occasional status update might be nice.

Or else change it to a MOTM.

I agree as well, afaik setting the motd shouldn\'t be too hard... also I notice that there are scroll buttons in the MOTD  -  during loading screens.  Are they supposed to work and do they for anyone?

well they do want new comers to know that there will be a wipe... and also maybe the little things that say \"PS works better when your computer is turned on\" and \"if your stuck do /unstick\" maybe that thing could have the messages...

There\'s lots of room for more info, they could keep their wipe blurb and still have a useful motd.
