we are thinking that in a game so young... so yet to be developed... why worry about these things - as they will balance themselves... better to RP... and let the Dev\'s who already have said elsewhere that this is an issue they are going to look at as the game develops,  develop.

It is a game, and a great game at that... especially as it is free... we intend to RP and enjoy it..

Love to you all and have fun ROLE PLAYING,

just realised that this is posted on its own - it was supposed to be on the debate about sword costs and econimies...

laughs so so hard... oooooops

But hey the responses are great..

Sorry Kayruu...

We have to add that we agree with most of what is said below, and do believe in feedback... it was only the post we were reading at the time seemed to harp on about nothing the developers or players had not already addressed.. and it had fallen into a \'who can belittle who match..\' we can only apologise for not posting it correctly...

We makes suggestions because we\'re saving the Devs time and energy by playtesting their creation for them.  As dedicated playtesters, many of us have an insight that at least some devs might be interested in on certain topics from time to time.

Feedback is basically what we\'re here for as Zanz said but there is a thin line between giving our opinion about the current system and trying to \'force\' our own ideas on the Devs. The latter will never work but sometimes I see people who argue their ideas so hard that it is going too far.

I just try to give my opinion and when I have a good idea, in my eyes, I share that too but I won\'t defend it until the end. I put it out there and then let go of it. Others can agree, disagree, laugh at it ... whatever. None of that matters since the Devs aren\'t going to do something because we ask or tell them to. They\'ll do what they want and I agree that we shouldn\'t argue with them about it, just throw ideas out there.

I try to read most of the ideas presented and try to do some of the better ones.   Basically it\'s a trade off between effort/time/effectiveness.

1) Effort.  Will this idea take many hours to do and take me away from other things that may be more important.  I don\'t want to start something and leave it half complete.

2) Time. Do I ( we ) have the time to do this idea at the moment?  Sometimes there are other things in the pipe that need to get done first or there may be a busy week at school or work, etc

3) Effectiveness.  This plays into the above 2 ideas.  Is the effort and time invovled going to produce something that really adds to the game?   For example,  is having customizable character appearances more important than having different mouse icons.  It\'s a balance to make sure that we are working on the things that will have the biggest impact on the most players.

Just because we don\'t implement an idea this ( or next ) version doesn\'t mean it will never get implemented or that the ideas are bad  ( although some are :) ).

The important part is the feedback of the RPers, because PS is supposedly geared towards them and thus they must make sure that the development progresses in the intended way. Without feedback, development will have a much harder time going on as originally intended.

Therefore, it is almost mandatory to post ideas and feedback so the devs can have a reference on how their efforts impact the game and it\'s ability to fulfill it\'s stated goal of being RP encouraging.

Yes, it might be that simply letting things \"develop themselves\" would reach a similar outcome eventually. However, it would often stray off the intended path and thus waste a lot of effort and time.
By providing feedback, we can help to keep PS on track and thereby protect it from getting slowed down in development by straying off the path and having to undo things that took time to do but proved to not work towards PS\'s goal.

Also, by providing feedback the devs can, if they wish, more easily measure how much a certain feature would likely impact the game.

In summary: to prevent development from slowing down due to wasted effort.
