Well...I can't play
« on: October 29, 2005, 04:49:42 am »
I tried reinstalling my client after severely screwing it up (deleted everything that said planeshift...) then when reinstalling, everything went well, up to the updating part...

The updater is running severely slow, and I know this is common, but also I think that when we first install the game, the updates should come with it, without the need to load our GUI, or use the recover mode, just throw it in with the instalation, that way we don\'t have to fiddle with the updater until a more current update arrives...

EDIT: Not sure if this goes here or in Wish List, it is a bug with the slow movement though...

Yes, and it should come with popcorn and do your homework while you play! Why didn\'t anyone think of that earlier.

Getting updates will always be needed, as things are always changing. This is a good thing :) We try to make it as painless as possible, but there is only so much that can be done.

Look into the \"updaterconfig.xml\" - it shall already contain 2 entries for updater servers, a \"main\" and a \"backp\" (missing \"u\" here).

Try to switch the active ID between 1 and 2.

To switch, would I just need wordpad, and a cut and paste? :P

(I\'m not good with computers, so I don\'t know :|)
