Toolbar Problem
« on: November 07, 2005, 02:41:25 pm »
Once I wanted the toolbar to be closed so I used the ^ button. But now it is not even there. I mean the drop-down button is not there, so I can\'t get the menu back. It makes the game hard, as I want to view a couple of things, but can\'t check them. Any idea what I can do ?

It is there, just the size is 0. Look for a small brown box where the show/hide button was. Click on it and resize the button.

The show/hide button disappears when you close the game with the toolbar hidden.

Yes seemingly that did disappear. The problem is that it never came back. How to get it back again ?

open planeshift.cfg in a random text editor... use wordpad if on windows

then find all entries for control window (ControlWindow)..

they should look a little like this

Posx = 0
Posy = 0

width = 400ish
height = 50ish

visible = true

if any of those entries are nothing like that change them then save... you might want to take a copy of the existing file and save it incase you totaly break things.

that should be good but im at school now and cant check things.
<Rux> i wish i could say that narrows it down, but the internet is one freaky place

Or you could avoid creating duplicate threads by using the search function... GUI toolbar messed up? READ THIS!

although it wasnt too much effort for me type a few lines during a boring lesson...

and also its a bit late now... so your post is pretty much redundant leaving you deserving a slap with a spam stick.
