There\'s a shortcut to updater in recover mode on start-all programs-planeshift-planeshift updater (recover mode)
This mode has proven to give less problems than the one that loads the gui, and also provides more onscreen information about the errors you could be having, so it\'s recommended to use it if you encounter any problems with the normal updater.
Also, to solve your problem, try disabling sound, it\'s almost the first step to do when a repetitive crash occurs
