~85 was the highest lately. Usually it\'s around there. Give or take 20-30.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Not to mention that not EVERYONE logs on at the same time, and that people don\'t hear about PlaneShift often. Instead they are hearing stuff about the games that have the really simple graphics and easy to learn, or games like WoW, EQ, FFXI, Rose Online, Priston Tale... Just to name a few that I\'ve either played or talked to someone that has. If you want a bigger community, tell your friends! get people into the game and the numbers will rise :)

Obviously 52, 80 or even the 150 players that were online at peak times aren\'t \"many\" by standards of finished MMORPGs. Alas, they indeed are a lot by standards of a beta-test pre-alpha tech demo of an MMORPG, especially if you consider that the server has been highly unstable for several weeks, the NPC AI is down most of the time and the quests are few and not all functional. Furthermore, they are about the right amount of players for the world, as that is currently tiny.

In fact, this is a really good thing, since the percentage of RPers has increased (as the number of PLs has decreased) due to that. Most activity ingame is mining or RP now.
So if you are into RP, or know someone who is, it will likely be worthwhile to play PS. If not, then it won\'t.
PS is, due to it\'s nature, free to cater only to one, or a select few, types of players, which are RPers. This is another reason why the playerbase isn\'t so large as in other MMO\"RP\"Gs. The overall quality in terms of RP in PS is comparatively high due to that.
Please take into consideration that PS is strongly geared towards RP when deciding whether or not to download the PS client.
