Loading World Problem
« on: December 10, 2005, 11:54:05 pm »
For some reason the bar loads up almost the entire way then it just stops and opens a window that I can\'t see but it is there in the bottom tray and it is labeled PlaneShift while the original window is labeled PlaneShift and then the version number and it just freezes there and there are no error windows that appear.

Have you tried clicking the extra window that appears? It\'s possible that it is an error, and didn\'t show up properly because ps froze.

Also, do you meet the minimum requirements, have you updated the game, does reloading it fix the problem and do you have sound turned off?

If you have a lot of ram, you might wanna use load all maps :\\ That will mean you can\'t have a problem loading each individual map..

There are several things you can try:

Two of them as a start:

Go to the setup application:

start-all programs-planeshift-planeshift setup

There ensure you\'ve sound marked as \"off\" save changes and launch the game.

If still crashes, go back to setup, and ensure you\'ve load all maps unchecked. After doing that, you can try switching to stone skin, and relaunching again.

If nothing works, be sure that your system meets this requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

    * Windows 98, ME, 2000 or XP, Mac OS X 10.2.6, Linux, FreeBSD or Solaris
    * GeForce 2 or higher 3D graphics card
    * 1 Ghz CPU
    * 512 MB RAM
    * 1 GB free disk space
    * 56k modem Internet connection

Recommended Requirements:

    * Windows XP, Mac OS X 10.2.6, Linux or FreeBSD
    * GeForce 4 or higher 3D graphics card
    * 2 Ghz CPU
    * 1 GB RAM
    * 1 GB free disk space
    * Broadband Internet connection
