Rigwyn: Is it possible that the last time you tried to use pslaunch to update, pslaunch crashed trying to download a self-update again and again, and was never able to advance to the following update which would have exchanged Fragnetics with SkyLab Host?

The only clean solution might be to download the new complete installer for Version 0.5.3 (which contains a fixed pslaunch) and install it (over an existing installation should work without problems, but uninstalling it first would be the really recommended way).

No, originally I tried to run psclient but got an error message saying I needed to update. I ran pslaunch and the updater failed due to bad md5 hashes. I manually unzipped the downloaded file and the files went where the should. I ran psclient again. ( I may have clicked *play* - I dont remember which I did ). This time I was able to get to the login screen, however skylab was not listed. I manually updated the servers list and then ran the client again.

So the update that  I was required to load did not update the server list.

Perhaps the the md5 sum was not as expected because the server list file was not in the zip archive ?

Hmm, I remember after unpacking the pslaunch update manually, and calling pslaunch, I was notified of another update, which exchanged the serverlist.xml file. Possible that your manual editing disabled that. But you could rename your serverlist.xml (e.g. to serverlist.bak), so it doesn't exist anymore under the original name, then pslaunch might recognise it as missing (at least in a repair update) and revert it with the latest version.

The pslaunch update and the serverlist update were different updates though.

And the "wrong MD5 checksums" message was an error in the old pslaunch version (miscalculating them, never getting correct ones in this specific situation) - according to Xordan.

Come to think of it, there was in fact a second update notification. I ignored it thinking the client was just bugged as I had just updated it.
