Hi,

it just happened to me that while I was fighting a rogue with magic, someone came and attacked the rogue as well... He could attack the rogue even though I was attacking that rogue already (and we were not grouped)! That\'s the first thing that makes we wonder: how is it determined who is in fight with an NPC?

The other strange thing is that one time during the fight, I tried to cast a spell on the rogue and was denied with the usual message (\"You have to be grouped with ... to attack that rogue\" and so on).
So how could he take over the attack? Is this intentional in the game? Or is it a (known) bug that will be fixed?

I must admit that the whole thing made me quite angry, as in the end the other fighter killed the rogue! I didn\'t get any experience points, even though I had fought with the rogue for quite some time, and had spent quite a lot of healing potions :(
So it\'s frustrating when someone just comes up and steals the kill :( and I don\'t think the devs are trying to frustrate people ;)

Yes, that\'s annoying... but if you use magic you can also steal a sword fighters kill, it works both ways. Also if you kill something with strictly magic you can\'t loot it :( But all will come in time :D

There is the odd glitch in the attack system :( but we all have to live with it.

You can only not loot a kill (by magic) if you didn\'t actuly kill it, like with weakness. With weakness the poor blighter dies from being weak, not you killing him, so it makes seance.

yeah...i hate that also...but just make sure right after it stops casting...cast again. thats how i keep my kill.  this dwarf would always come up and try to take my kill...but i kept on casting and he wasn\'t able to cast it...also..i found anouther glitch.  right when a tusefang shows up i cast.. and it cast successfully...but then i try to cast againa nd it doesn\'t let me cuz the tusefang had attacked the stupid dwarf....VERY frustrating

Stealing a kill with magic is currently the definition of kill stealing, because it is exploiting a bug in the system. It is punishable by a GM. However, I believe this is the first I\'ve heard about a fighter being able to steal a mage\'s kill - I don\'t think such things happened before..?
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

If someone starts an attack, then you start the spell at the same time, and they kill it before the spell completes, then yes they will take the kill.

KSing is hard to punish, because GMs aren\'t always quick to respond.  It seems less often that people use it as a tactic, because they know it\'s against the rules.  If they do use it often, then they get off on a warning, or two warnings, and then they hide their behaviour better.

What I see more of are people who will KS once or twice, then get offline.
