carpet quest

I have finished the \"what\'s up with the carpet quest\".

I don\' t know about in december of o5, but in the past few days it has been working.  Sometimes the carpet dealer seemed to get overwhelmed and unable to respond--the npcs are picky for the correct words.

and I\'ve seen hinted elsewhere in the forums for how to change words to get them accepted.

You _did_ note, didn\'t you?, that my problem is not with the carpet dealer but with the weaver who doesn\'t understand anything except \"I need a quest\"?

I took the quest but then heard it was broken so i left it for a while but on passing both of them i engaged both in conversation and i found getting the quest completed was easier than most others i have taken.

Then I\'m officially stumped. I tried again yesterday, countless times, and the weaver definitely doesn\'t respond to anything except the question whether he has a quest for me.

I hereby officially declare this quest to unsolvable due to whatever bug hidden in there. Unless I have to speak Chinese or Klingon to that weaver, that is. The only info on that quest which is available is that the carpets haven\'t been delivered by the weaver, and the weaver says nothing. Also, there are no carpets lying around anywhere (yes I did search the whole city for something I might possibly return to the trader to complete the quest). Oh well, there are some carpets but you can\'t pick them up.

No. The quest is _not_ solvable.

Prove the opposite to me please. *grumble*

The only \"legal\" way to do that is:

- Get a GM in game.
- Discard the quest if you still have it.
- Walk along with the GM to each of the stations.
- Tell him exactly what you say to the merchants, so he can repeat it.

But once again: The board is outside the game. Debating here about in-game issues may lead into spoilers.

How to find a GM who is online at the moment:

Enter \"/who game\", look for players who are members of the guild \"Game Masters\" in the list that follows. Sadly, there are daytimes with no GM around.

Also, don\'t miss to create a petition that you want to meet one to check the quest. Don\'t expect that GMs will have time for quest testing all the time they are online. Use the \"praying hands\" icon to start a petition.

Yeah I know. Sorry if I sound sarcastic. After it has been hinted to me that I might just be talking to the wrong NPC I\'ve checked the entire warehouse area again, and I can positively confirm that it was the right one. There is only one weaver in a tent in the warehouse area. Unless, that is, Brintec\'s description to that end is faulty. *g*

I\'m trying to help Thurisaz through PMs at the moment - there are some further tests he can run himself, but if there is no change, catching a GM will be a good idea. As I told him in another thread, I tested it a few hours ago and everything worked just fine.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Yup, thanks Karyuu. I\'ll try to get back into the game and city now and try again as soon as possible. :)

(EDIT)

For the benefit of those reading through this thread after me, it\'s working now. Discarding the quest and getting it again did the trick. ;)

Hi,

I\'ve just completed this quest too, with some help.

It\'s worth pointing out the Brintec won\'t respond unless the dialogue is spot-on.

Normally an NPC will say something whenever you talk to them, even if it\'s to say that they don\'t understand. Brintec isn\'t like that. He won\'t say a word.

I was starting to think that the NPC server had gone down because Britnec wouldn\'t talk to me no matter what I sadi. It was only whenl a fellow traveller pointed out the right phrase to me that he burst into life.

Cheers.
