Loading Bug/mIRC issues

Sorry to post yet again about this problem, but I am unable to connect to the mIRC server (behind a college LAN, unable to forward the ports), and my character is stuck due to the run time bug. (Please keep reading!)

From what I have read the fix for the runtime crash bug on oja road/magician area will be fixed in an upcoming patch in a few days.

My question was that if taxi requests are no longer being accepted on this forum, what do those of us who cannot connect to mIRC do?  I for one am stuck due to this runtime bug, and I would gladly take the time to go onto mIRC to talk to a GM live if I could.

If for some reason you guys decide to take taxi requests again here is the usual info:

Char name: Cossius Paendrag
Destination: Hydlaa (or wherever, stuck at magician)

Also, there was no warning that I could see posted prior to this new update.  I logged off two days ago at the magician salesman, updated today, THEN found the warning.  A little unfair in my opinion...but I\'ll be a patient player.

I guess all that I am saying is that perhaps if characters do get stuck in later versions (not just this bug) that a forum taxi service should be re-instated.  Im rather sure Im not the only college student with this problem.

Before you flame me just realize I cannot get on IRC and that I have obviously read up plenty on this.

We cannot always give \"warnings\" before updates, because that slows down development. We can\'t say \"We will release an update in two days\" and then wait those two days for players to get comfortable with the idea, nor can we say the same thing ahead of time before things are done, because something may always go wrong and we may have to push the date back, over and over. The updates happen when they happen, and sometimes unfortunately, that\'s the reality of how it works here.

We are not taking taxi requests on the forums. I\'m really sorry that we have to be so strict about this, but there are just way too many players having this problem and we cannot keep up with the requests. Such bugs do happen and we can only ask you to be patient for a little while longer until the patch is applied. Take a small break from PlaneShift for a while until the issue is fixed.

Let me put it to you this way:  I couldn\'t get on for a day, and logged in this morning to find out that we were ready for the release.  Even I didn\'t know.  

I made the decision to not allow taxi service requests via the forum anymore, because of a few reasons:

• Bigger issue, and everyone is getting it.  It\'s just too much for the GM team to deal with, and there weren\'t even any available when I first got on.
• Players have been abusing this.  It\'s pretty much an honor system request, and that just doesn\'t work.  We shouldn\'t have to bother with this.
• This is already fixed, and we\'ll hopefully get the fix out soon.  \'Till then, you can just wait.
