Searching these forums

How often do you see likes of "Try using the search button - your question has been addressed many times before"?

Using "simple machines forum" has now made this simple solution less appealing as it automatically implies a wildcard search e.g. searching for "pet" will find everything containing the consecutive characters p, e and t - i.e. petition, carpet, perpetual etc. etc. I thought enclosing the search term in double quotes might work, but it doesn't.

Oh, how interesting.. I'll look around and see if this can be tweaked somehow. Agreed, that will be an annoyance. Thanks for pointing this out :}
