Ever since the world of Yliakum was found, there have been struggles over power between good and evil. There are many fights every day, but none of them result in the other winning. I would like to tell of the most current power struggles. Some that may soon result in Yliakum's destruction.
It started with Setill and Narita, who wished to use the newly found Dark Crystal in the name of Vodùl. They told the world that they both had seen visions in their dreams. Vodùl was displeased with the way the Gods Laanx and Talad were running things since he had left. They had fought over power, and corrupted Yliakum's citizens into fighting among themselves, as well. Laanx followers fought Talad followers. Evil fought good. It was time that the world of Yliakum be destroyed, and recreated, so that it could live with no more mistakes such as the ones already set into place. They made sacrifices to the Crystal, hoping to draw its power and use it to start their destruction. They thought of themselves as good, darkness as a way to destroy the wrong that has been set upon the land. But the people who they are trying to destroy, consider them evil, which confuses the two many times.
Soon after, someone named Xidus claimed that he had also been serving Vodùl. Laanx had trapped him in the Death Realm for many years, after he had tried to destroy the most sinfull race, the Lemur. They were created by Laanx herself, and were almost a part of her, thus they dedicated themselves to serving a God who just wanted to gain power, and she used them for her own gain. Xidus stayed in the Death Realm, year after year he had wanted to escape and continue to fulfill Vodùl's wish. But, he could not. Later on, he managed to break from the shadows, and saw the buildings that could lead him to the way out. Yet, he could not use this portal to the outside. He went to the library, and found a book which had an ancient magic sealed inside of it. Vodùl could not do anything for Xidus while in the shadows, but he could help him a little after he was able to move freely. This book contained knowledge of ancient runes, that would enable the Ynnwn to attain great strength, and a power to purify the rest of the Ynnwn of their Elven traits. The Elves were a very sinfull race, yet the Diaboli did not believe in any Gods, so Xidus thought everyone should become one of them, or be destroyed. The Diaboli had a few foolish thoughts, such as the desire for Elven partners. So the Ynnwn race after purification would not be Diaboli, but instead Pure Ynnwn.
Setill and Narita met with Xidus in the forests of Ojaveda near the magic shop. They talked about their plans, and Setill and Narita announced what they were going to do with the Dark Crystal. Xidus was pleased, as he figured it as a shortcut to killing off the "Crystal-Borns" as he called them. Their intentions were almost the same, but Xidus wanted to keep the Ynnwn race alive, since they were the only ones who did not contain sin, or foolish thoughts after purification. The Kran were also usefull, since Xidus thought of them as artificial life that can be used to transport them across the land, fight their battles, and do work for the Pure Ynnwn race. Everything was already planned, but a few did not wish to give in so easily. The forces of good gathered, and tried to stop the insane destruction. But, it was not enough. A miracle happened, though. Xidus had died due to his old age. His body and soul became One with the Dark Crystal, since that is where the runes' powers came from. Setill and Narita had joined with the Dark Empire, and slightly changed their plans since then.
During this short time of peace, a few thought they could use the Dark Crystal's power to save their friend. The Scions of Wyldewood, which had just become a guild in Hydlaa, were having many problems. Their friend Xillix fell ill, and a portal connecting to the Death Realm had opened in the Ojaveda Hills after certain events had occured. The Scions presented offerings to the Dark Crystal, hoping everything would go away, but Vodùl used these offerings to gather power for Xidus' rebirth. After enough power was gathered, he gave them a map to follow, to lure them away from the Crystal so that Xidus could be brought back to life without any distractions. Vodùl had new plans for Xidus, and needed him alive in order to carry out these plans. His current followers were much too weak and unknowledgable to know what he really wanted.
Xidus' body slowly oozed out of the Crystal. It was lifeless. But then, it began to grow younger it seemed. Xidus' grey hair turned back to white, his wrinkles disappeared, and his bony body bulged back into its younger form. Xidus opened his eyes and looked around. Vodùl had spoken with him, telling him what had happened, and what he forsaw was going to happen, as long as he carried out his wishes. Xidus bowed to the Crystal, since Vodùl was speaking through it to him, and he rushed out to find Setill and Narita, as well as the allies they had gathered long before. The Infidel Slayers, The Thieves of Yliakum, and the Dark Empire were the guilds Xidus would search for first.
