hmm think a vote would be a good option, but not sure how you would be able to do that without a chance of misuse.

For example you have a second in command and he has his followers and he wants to take over. Impossible now but if the impeachement would be in place he would only have to delete all oposing members till he has a majority in his followers and win the vote. Also what would stop a guildmaster from deleting the one oposing him if he finds out? Big chance one person atleast will drop him an email and suddenly TADA the guildmaster returns from his inactivity.

DUH.  It's called a coup d'etat.

Well that's the point, really. It may not seem nice, a guild master deleting a second in charge becausse he opposes him, but it's oh so realistic. The whole second deleting everyone, if the guild master has suspicions, he should take away the remove permission. If the second get's this all done behind hid back, more power to him! Exactly what Zanzibar said, replacing the top ranking members and booting the old. Backhanded, but real.

I may make a wishlist thread about this one...

Hey, just a thought... what if there was a voting system that would allow members to boot the leader after a certain amount of time. Say for example the leader quits PS and isnt seen for a long time. The members could vote him out after 2 months, or it could go by IG time.

I dont like the idea of being able to be overthrown. If a leader creates a successful guild then why cant he/she keep it? I mean yes it is realistic to lose power but I think that if a person is loseing their power they should atleast be allowed to stay in the guild and try and regain leadership, regain the trust of the others.

Well I stabbing in the back I don't mind, but the deleting of most members to get a majority of the vote seems way to much as taking advantage of the gamemechanics. I mean in reality he might be able to do this over time but most groups would have rules about when someone could be kicked out so he would never be able to kick out the majority of the group like that.

Well..not really taking advantage of game mechanics, and I hate how everything is labeled as that.

Guild Masters View: He can delete most, it's his guild. whatever he says, goes.

Second in charge: The deletion of many members is easily roleplayable. Here's one senario I can think of, the second holds council with the guild master and tells him that a few low ranks are planning to impeach him. He ask for permission to remove these traitors, and so removes all the good guys, and leaves baddies, (This is if the second is bright, and the guild master is an idiot.)
Also, mass murder, expulsion, it's all happened before. So, deleting a majority can be done in an RP way, and doesn't really abuse game mechanics...If you're overthrowing a guild, why care about the rules of deleting people? It's do it all the way or die at that point.

Well true not saying it would be impossible but it would be way hard to do something like that and if you have a gamemechanic like that instead it would be way easy.

And thats when I feel it is misuse when there is no connection anymore to how hard it should be and how hard it actualy is.

So would like to see somthing like that but there should be more of a threshhold in my opinion :)

Wow!  I didn't mean to touch off something like this!  I was just after information.

Thank you all.  I had obviously not thought about the whole impeachment process.  It does seem that it would be entirely too easy to abuse.  Although, if there were a time limit involved it might help.  It just seemed sad to me that the guild could be much more than it is if the leader would just pass the torch, as it were.

Once again, thank you all.
