Two question about the map and object
« on: May 01, 2007, 12:49:04 pm »
Dear everyone:
I am so sorry to have so many question, because i have no idea.. :(

Question 1
I always see some object like house in the map.
Should i build the map and house in a same "object" and export to PS?
OR
Just  create a simple map for one object and export to PS, and create a house and export to PS and put the house in the map?

Question2
I follow the Simple Modeling School and make a simple weapon, i know how to export to PS and replace the other weapon, but can i set this weapon in some where on a map?
For example:
I make a map call testBox, and i want to put a weapon in textBox with the location 0,0,0 (x,y,z)
Is that possible to do it?
if yes, should i change to data in database?
Can i find any tutorial in this forum?

Hi,

Question 1:
I think the easiest way is to create and export the whole map in one sweep. You can have multiple objects though, blender2crystal exports all the objects in the selected scenes.
It is possible to export the map and it's objects discretely, but then you'll have to add the objects to that map manually, which is rather timetaking.

Question 2:
Hmm, if you want the weapon to be useable in-game, then it has to be added in server database as an item. However, if you just need it as   passive decoration, you can use Blender and add it to the map as any other object. It'll get exported with the rest of the map.

Hmm, I don't think we have a PS specific map tutorial. There is a small tut in blender2crystal homepage: http://b2cs.delcorp.org/index.php/First_steps_with_blender2crystal
