Mouse Weirdness
« on: September 20, 2006, 09:58:55 pm »
Hi All

Great game, I'm totally hooked! (DOH).

I've noticed some mouse weirdness in 10.4.x.  Mouse dissappears when I get out of the PS window, have to click on something to brin git back.  If you do this at the wrong time you totally lose your mouse pointer OS wide until you quit PS.  Not the end of the world, but thought it was worth posting about.

Also in that same vein ... in game having some mouse problems.  Sometimes it takes me 5-6 clicks to actually select an object/person/NPC I'm clicking on.  I don't change the place I'm clicking.  Again not the end of the world, and it seems like a problem in the engine rather than the PS layer ....

Now back to digging.

Right: When you are in the PS window, you actually have to Apple-Tab back to the Finder, doing this puts the PS instance in Pause. I do not notice the click-targeting much, as I use the keyboard almost exclusively, but have seen it before. I personally do not count these as problems, and recommend customizing your keystroke and shortcut keystroke commands and working from the keyboard.

Thanks for the tips.  I'll check out setting up more keyboard command shortcuts hehe :)

Apple-Tab doesn't seem to work for me to get out of PS though, only thing that does is holding down option and getting the mouse out of the screen and clicking.

I'll keep at it!  Taking a break, suuuuuper lagged out right now heh.

*edit*

Ahh I can't apple-tab out in full screen mode, but while in windowed mode it is fine ;)

Ooops did I say something I shouldn't have said?  (the edit?)

Just avoid posting two or more successive posts before others have replied. "Modify" your last post to add new information. Thanks! --Karyuu

When you are in the PS window, you actually have to Apple-Tab back to the Finder, doing this puts the PS instance in Pause.

Actually, one might find that PS doesn't get 100% paused.  I don't know if anyone else has the issue or if it's just me, but if I'm auto-running and then switch to a different app for a moment, the movement stops in PS.  Yet when I switch back to PS, my energy levels drop way down to where they would have been had I still been running the whole time, even if I'm still standing where I was when I switched to the other app.  The same goes for regaining health and such.

Er ... yeah, just throwing that bit in.   :)
