Added basic feet, finished basic head structure, beefed up slightly

Edit: Refined head further, started working on feet.

merelphin : agile saltwater animal which eats fish, propels itself through the water with it's powerful tail.

I know the texture is relly poor at the moment, i've only just started working on it.

Your models right now look really good and i wouldn't be surprised if they were implemented.

But that norton has to go..... try Avast and Nod32, they are the best one two punch out there.

Less system memory used as well.

they just keep getting better and better!!

...but, from what I can see, you keep starting new ones, before you've finished old models. I for one am really anxious to see what those last two creations will turn out to be when they're finished!

My suggestion would be to make sure you're working from reference.  The anatomy doesn't look right on the first 2.  The sea monster could look alright, depending on how it is further defined (but that will require lots of reference).  Don't say you want to make new creatures, because that just doesn't fly.  All fantasy creatures are based on creatures in reality, and the human eye can catch inconsistencies in anatomy and such, even if the person doesn't realize it.  In all honesty, if you're not working from reference, it's a waste of time (unless you're really really rediculously good, but I've only seen a handful of people good enough for that).

http://67.15.36.49/team/Tutorials/benmathis/benmathis_1.asp

Do above tutorials, learn anatomy, learn how to draw (a bit) and learn how to texture, practise an awefull lot, practise more, post your work on forums like:

http://www.cgchat.com
http://www.cgtalk.com
http://www.polycount.com

These are all forums where pro's post, and where you can get real constructive critisism from them + some of these sites host great (video) tutorials.

Also, like Arcane said, always have some kind of reference about what you're making. You can mix all kinds of creatures as long as the anatomy looks right. Pics of that are easy to find on google, like this one:

Or, like for your fish, look up some anatomy pics from whales (i got some great ones, if you want them lemme know).
Another thing is your 3d package, i don't know if you're planning to get into the graphics industry, but i'd suggest that if you want to, learn a program what actually is used a lot in that industry (like 3dsmax, maya, xsi or lightwave). All these programs have a trail package and/or an option to use a light version of the thing for free (or almost for free) if that's your thing.

If you want more links or info lemme know  :)

Thanks for replying guys, i got alot of good advice there. I just wanted to say, i'm a begginer in any sort of 3D art really, if i could find a way to draw a creature then turn it 3D i'd have alot easier time. Drawing for me is simple i get alot of my earnings from illustrations but this whole 3D thing is bloody hard! I'm not looking for any real credibilty to be honest, i'm pretty sure implementation is a long way off for someone of my standard and it was never my intent. I just fancied playing around with blender as it's free and seeing how it works. As far as animal models go these are actually my first 3 and yeah as someone pointed out the first 2 were definately ended before finishing, the simple answer to that is i had difficulty developing them any further as i'd never really modelled anything other than buildings/inanimate objects which were quite simple and i'm still getting the hang of manipulating shapes in a 3D plane. Incidentally if anybody knows a way to get what i draw in 2D into a 3D model i would be highly appreciative. The main difficulty I have with 3D modelling is that i've spent the last god knows how many years working on perspective and shading in order to create the illusion of 3D in a 2D plane, now when i can actually do something in 3D i'm at a bit of a loss!
