Yes, you can assign the move commands to mouse buttons in the options window, keys page. I don't think mouse axis are mappable, but you can use different camera modes (default = m) to compensate for this. Also be sure to clear the mouse buttons previous assignments on the mouse page.

For example I've been using following combinations:
A)
- move forward = right mouse
- tab = toggle mouselook
- "3rd person follow" camera mode
B)
- move forward = right mouse
- * = mouselook
- "Free Rotation" camera mode
- , . = turn
A-version has easier character movement, while B allows more control on the camera view.

The A-version is fully mouse driven. You run with right mouse, and turn with mouse-x-axis. But aye, should check what controls fit your taste better.
