Dragon online
« on: October 21, 2006, 03:41:58 am »
A great force swept through the skies of a lifeless planet. Then a huge explosion in the sky. Dust was thrown everywere from the inpact that was 20 miles away from the surfice, which meant it was strong. When the dust cleared, several statues appeared. They were of trees, grass, rocks, plants, and water. Then another sandstorm. The statues then began to gain colour from the lifeless redish-brown. The grass, tress and plants, green. The rock, grey. And the water, blue. And there were alse yellows, reds, and purples everywhere. Out from were the explosion was, came he. The creator, known as Hethos. Then, some dust swirled into cyclones in small places. this time creating statues of beings. They were reptilian. They had horns, wings, tails, and fangs. The creator then waved his hand over each of them. They began to gain colour, and also began to move. "I give you power," the creator said, "You must create races similar to yourselves in appearence, they will be called dragons." The creator went up to the red reptilian, "You, Gar'thok the flame, will create the red dragons. They will live in warm places and always breathe the flames which live inside them." He then went up to a light blue reptilian, "You, Morhan the frost, will create the frost dragons, which will inhabit the frozen plains, and will breathe a cold frost." He walked up to the green reptilian, "You, Hal'roth the leaf, will create the green dragons of the forest, which will share the breathe of flames." He walked up to the bronze reptilian, "You, Vauge the sand, will create the bronze dragons of the desert. They will have the breath of the winds." He walked up to a darker blue reptilian, "You, Garlaa the wave, will create the dragons of the waters, who shall have the breath of water." He walked up to the shale-black reptilian, "And last but not least, you, "Fartheck the shadow, will create the black dragons, who will roam the underground tunnels as their home."

"You all have your jobs. You must begin at once," The creator said. So the six dragon gods worked their magic, creating cyclones just as the creator did, and waving their hands over the statues, giving them life. The six races were created. Life was pieceful at first. But after a year, the dragons no longer felt happy with eachother. They began only to stay with their one clans, and claimed their domains, letting no other dragon clans in. It seemed that they turned racist, hating the other clans. Their hate spawned a new dragon god, Beramies, god of death. The creator had to lock him up into a magic prison. He could only escape if someone gained the sic magical items and came to the door of his prison. One of the items was given to each clan. The sands of time to the bronze clan. The flame of angre to the red clan. The fountain of truth to the water clan. The crystal of knollage to the frost clan, the rock of strength to the green clan, and the skull of hatred to the black clan. The creator also calmed the races dow about eachother. though the clans are still uneasy about other clans in their terretory.

Dragon online is my wierdo idea of an MMORPG I'm making. Still in the concept stage. It be great if you people could help, and I'll also need help when the development stage comes. Yes, it will be in crystal space, and yes, it will be a ROLE PLAYING GAME, which is the RPG part of MMORPG. You will have to roleplay, alot. And once it's finished I already have an idea of an expansion, but thats WAY off. I'v got no prgramming skills sadly, or madeling skills, just ideas, and lots of um'.

It's generally difficult to gather interest when the only thing you have is an idea :} People have their own ideas - usually tons of them - but they know that it's very hard to bring them to life. Plus this is the PlaneShift forum, and if anyone has the skills and knowledge to work on a game, they would probably contribute to an already existing and quite established project. I think perhaps you should look around for game development forums specifically that will have a better audience for such subjects.

I actually have an idea for a game that would turn out to be pretty cool if it was realized. Unfortunately, like you, all I have are ideas. If you're really serious about this, then I suggest you at least write your ideas out in detail. I'm not saying post it on here, I'm just saying have it ready so that if you ever get a chance you won't be held back by the fact that all you have are vague concepts.

Great point. Having some draft of a design document by itself will help you immensly, instead of a short one-page summary.

Take a look at these articles - they are an incredible wealth of information on game design, and especially this Gamasutra piece. (You should keep up with Gamasutra or a similar site if working with games is your passion.)

The more information you have to share, and the better it is organized, the more attention you can attract.

You're going to have to work on that - you're the one with the ideas you want to share. If people don't have the details they need when it comes to game design (or a leader who cannot communicate those details) the project is going to be at a standstill.

Meh will try..... don't blame me if this is considered vauge.....

Ok, so the playable land is a huge valley, mountains at ALL sides, and their too high to fly over. There is a lake at the west edge, that expands to the middle of the valley. The water dragons have an underwater cave there. Neer it is a volcano. The red dragons live IN the volcano, next to the volcano is a cave enreance, which is the entrance to the tunnels were the black dragons live. all around the volcano is a forest(green dragon terf.) North of the lake is a plateu were there is lots of snow and ice. Frost dragons live there. South of the lake and the forest is a huge desert were the bronze dragons live. All thse places look as they would in real life. I hope i'm not being vauge.

You are being vague. And again, you don't need to tell us. You need to do it for you. If you're serious about this, it's going to take work, and a lot of it.
