Sony Ericsson. In my opinion they're the best when it comes to mobile phones. Though, now it depends on what you actually want to do with the phone.

The K800 is a nice model, though let's say a little big. Of course, it has a very good camera (3.15MP), but it's big. You can do just fine with a model which has a 2MP camera, but let's say it looks more "trendy".

Also, don't know if you want it to be UMTS or not. If not, the Sony Ericsson W810 is from far away the best option, and it's also not very expensive at all. The "W" class from SE has a very good sound quality by the way, so that ipod won't need to be carried with you while you have the phone!

;)

Speaking of sound quality, it's still Sony, which is a brand in this domain.

Anyway, as for UMTS, huh, the Z610 looks very nice, both design and features.

I personally have a SE Z800, and I might say I'm very proud of it. Waiting for some new models until I'll change it though.

Oh well, after all, it all depends on you. I don't say "GO FO SE!". It's up to you, just say what you like, and I'll also post an opinion. Samsung makes nice phones too, though their battery problems are well known.

ive been quite a fan of se in the past, last two phones have been from them, as for samsung battery, im in the habbit of sticking my phone on charge every night anywho.
tbh, im not to fused about what it does, which is why im tending towards the samsung, i just want a phone that fits in my pocket and to be able to ring people from time to time anything else is an added bonus..
i dont know what umts is :p

UMTS. 3G Network. Video calling, 384kbps transfer rate bla bla bla. I seriously doubt it's of any use to you though, if you only want a phone only for what you've said. A phone to fit in your pocket? D900 is really light and slim, it's perfect for that. It also has a very good camera, along with many impressive features (edge, stereo speaker, card slot and more). So, if you really like it, go for it.

A tip from me, stop with that habbit, since it might screw up your battery.

Excuse me to break your enthusiasm, but Nokia is among the less durable phones. Of course, maybe 3310 might be an exception if you want to screw someone's head. The phone will be ok. Not the head though.

Never used Nokia, never will. That's why I didn't even recommand it.
