Problem when starting up game
« on: February 04, 2007, 12:14:01 am »
Hey, I am so excited about playing this game and have downloaded it, but for some reason when I go to start > programs > Plane Shift Crystal Blue > Plane Shift - Tech Demo it just goes to this screen (probably the title screen) but I don't have a cursor or anything and at the top it says, "crystalspace.canvas.openg1win: No hardware acceleration!" (without quotations). Can anyone help me with this?

Hiya!

“No Hardware Acceleration” usually means you either:
1.) Have very outdated drivers for your graphics card
2.) Have a very outdated graphics card, or
3.) Have a distinct lack of anything that could be considered a graphics card

Solve this by:
1.) Updating your graphics card drivers from the manufacturer's website
2.) Buy a new graphics card, or
3.) Buy a graphics card ;}

If you don't know what graphics card you have, you can (on Windows) point to the Start button and click Run. Type "dxdiag" (no quotes) in the box and press return. In the new window, go to the Display tab, and read "Name" and "Manufacturer". "Name" is the name and model of your card, and "Manufacturer"... is self-explanatory :]

For NVidia, visit www.nvidia.com
For ATI, visit www.ati.com
For anything else, use www.Google.com to find the correct manufacturer address.

If you think posting your system specs may be helpful, you're welcome to do that.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Oh yah thats right...

I had forgotten, my step dad had taken out my graphics card because it was screwing up and was no longer working. Hmm...I should probably get a new one. Anyway, I'll ask him about it. Thanks for the help!
