This depends from guild to guild. I know guilds that organise quests for their members, others that organise tournaments, wage wars or simply give their members day to day tasks that lie in their job description.

Voice communication like Teamspeak isn't likely to show up on Planeshift since it is basically out of character, unless you really want to add a new level to your roleplaying but I think that'd be pushing it a bit.

teamspeak would be bad for RP unless everybody near your character was in it :P

And even then we'd practically have to give every roleplayer acting classes, if we want them all to stay in character. :P

Survivors of Vaern have tons of events.

For more info check out our guild thread [should be on the top of the second page]. But in general we are trying to find people or artifacts from our lost city of Vaern. its always fun, and interesting, and it works very well with the general guild rp and guild structure.

As far as out of game communication, we use skype mainly. Its good, easy, and help when people can't make it in game, but can still chat.

It would seem very reasonable to use it within a guild. As members in EL do. No less OOC than guild chats, /tell and groups.

Guild and groups is OOC.  Tells can be used as whispering, or sending messages via pet and such.

Can, but usually isn't. I still use []'s most of the time in /tells, but for the most part I don't use the /tell function to RP, unless I have a good reason (for example, if someone reads a note I've just written, or examines something, I'd /tell them what they're looking at to keep things IC, but that in itself seems OOC)
