First of all, I added this for discussion.
I think this is an interesting idea. My question is, what is the penalty if you don't hold an event? People do have lives and such.
Not suggesting my way is the best way. I also understand the issue of RL. I am not suggesting any thing major.
The intention is to get guilds involved in their own interests and well being as well as involvement into the community But to refine it to absolutely possible lets change the numbers
* Hold [2] {events] activities per [1] one [RL] Calendar year
On top of that I point back to the need for these guilds to recruit and grow. Due to the amount of the resources it takes to gain the privilege to own a guild house I doubt that you can say they are all that busy in [RL] all the time.
Additional members and/or working Alliances would again help to achieve the requirement. So each guild would have to apply itself politically as well as socially to promote itself.
The use of and forming of Organizations would and could also apply to this as well. I asked about Alliances of the game and each guild can be part of one. Organizations can hold several or few participating guilds in separate agreements to work together to achieve the goals of the agreeing parties. And there is no limitations on how many Organizations a guild can be can be party to.
OSP supported areas are a good example of this. Since it will take more then one particular guild to sustain these areas over a period of time. I know one was quick to use the idea of an Organization to rally support for the cause. The other areas may want to look into this as a way to get some support as well. As, I don't believe that the purpose behind these areas was to have one group bear the whole burden of their use. But?.. To inspire the need to form or organize them and such a way that more then one group is involved to ensure their success. Leaving the management of course to winning candidates.
Penalties:
Since this is a suggested concept. I don't think anything more then a few warnings the first year is needed.
This will point out stagnant guilds that have let their memberships dwindle for the purpose of enjoying the luxury of having a private residence for a few members.
The second year redeposition of the house may be considered for reaction to allow another more active guild the opportunity to own a guild house
In view of all intentions here. It is not meant to take anything away. Only to instill some purpose and/or participation from those guilds to become active members of the communities in which they dwell.
Count:
As far as keeping count? To relieve any burden from the GM's and the OSP, that can be kept in a separate thread here at the forums listing the events, dates, and the sponsoring. co-sponsoring guilds, Alliances and/or Organizations. This would keep the community more involved in managing it. Allowing others to offer their support in helping those guilds that need it. As well as a place to look for support for your guild to keep its requirement.
( Such as the Stonehead Tavern or helping with the non-event times at the Red Crystal, or helping with the Outpost)
OSP areas defiantly count. Many individuals and guilds do supply [Manual} support to those areas. So holding a job there or assistance in organizing an [event] and or activity there would count for guilds that have members involved. (This is where an Organization would be helpful)
