I'm getting free experience! Why?

 I was at the ojaveda gold mine luring about some ulbernauts- i went back to oja, and just when i was entering the canyon, i got 750 experience and 4 pp's.  I thought that was wierd, but i thought maybe the ulb walked off the cliff and i got the xp from its kill or somethin... BUT later (5 min) i was selling my gold at trasok's and all of a sudden i gained 8000 experience (40PP's) i was shocked- and submitted a petition which was promptly answered, but i am wondering if anyone here can give me an explanation or a way to keep it from happening. This sounds like lag - if you were fighting Ulbers previously, the server might have only caught up to your actions long minutes later.

It is not lag. For some reason, when an NPC that gets stuck (or fell down a hill) disappears, the player targeting it last gets rewarded, even if that player was no longer attacking that NPC. I am sure there is a bug report about it in the bug tracker

i have never killed an ulbernaut before- but do they give 8000 experience? i find that hard to believe...

The strong ones seem to give that much. The less strong ones (which I can just kill) give 4000 exp I think. Much, much , much weaker trepors sometimes give 2200. Just to give an idea.

that still does not make sense to me- assuming (in my case) ulbernauts give 40 PP's/kill would only explain one of the two experience gains.  Remeber i said i got about 700 experience soon after leaving the ulbernaut field, but then latel i got the 40 PP's.  I am POSITIVE that there was only ONE ulbernaut following me, so only instance of point gain should have occurred.  Tefusang? No they are not viable in this instance, for once again, i am POSITIVE that no tefusangs followed me from the gold mine down over the cliff.  What could explain BOTH experience gains?

The short answer: "It's a bug". THe longer answer is not known yet . Strange things happen when you attack an NPC and then leave. THe 750 might be from a tefusang you met an hour ago, but which was now killed by someone else. Who knows

The Ulber fell off the cliff, the fall partially broken from landing on a tefusang, killing the tefu on the spot... 700xp. The Ulber later died of internal bleeding and blood poisoning... 8000xp.

Xoleron, if you were headed toward Oja, you probably also stepped through the Bandit's zone (and he probably started following you) ... he's worth 4 PP

As to why you got the PP?  -shrug-
