A question for the dev's...
« on: March 23, 2003, 03:31:18 am »
I am wondering if this game is open source and if you could provide me with a link to the code if it is.  I\'ve found someone willing to convert this game to Mac (if they want to, for a small, probably non-monetary fee)

Although this is still very unsure, I am hopeful about the possibility of Mac X version of PS and want to do all I can to get it there.

You can find all the source code on http://www.sourceforge.net.  Just search for the PlaneShift project there.  All the code is in the CVS.

At the moment we already have somebody working on the Mac version of the client.  He has it up and running so most ( all? ) of the work to convert PS to Mac is done.  However, he is trying to increase the performance in Crystal Space since it seems to be lacking ( but has made some really good progress).  He is in contact with ATI in order to work out some problems.

However, we can always use more people to work on the Mac client since it\'s only Lightyear at the moment.

So hopefully the Mac client can be released in due course.

I think selling your body to get someone to work on Planeshift is the sweetest thing I\'ve ever heard...

Way to go Aruneko!  ;-)

That\'s not what I said... :D

But I was referring to something like an ad.  Perhaps you could put up one on the main site if he agrees...?

I wasn\'t aware Lightyear was still working on PS.  The more the merrier I guess.

Time to mail him for his response...
