i feel rather pathetic...

Ok... im kind of new (as in just downloaded today) and im having trouble creating a character.
i get to the character creation screen and i make the char to how i want it and from there i have no idea how to move on.
help would be greatly appreciated.

instead of my char creation screen saying paths and next, it says quick and custom.

You have to choose one - quick will give you several predesigned sets of stats and skills, while in custom creation you get to make many choices that will affect these.

ok, but it doesnt do anything except say that my name was reserved in the database or whatever.

If you haven't played PlaneShift's version 0.2, you might be picking a character name that belongs to someone else. When we went from 0.2 to 0.3, people got to register their character names so someone else wouldn't be able to take them. If that's the case, pick another name and try to create a character again.

If you're the one that character name has belonged to though, you're probably just trying to create that character on another account. You're supposed to recreate the char on the account you did the name registration with.

wow and to think that if i actualy read the thing that came up i would have gotten that. in other words thanks greatly, it worked.
