Client size
« on: April 27, 2002, 09:12:00 pm »
I\'m a bit worried about the client size: 200-300 MB according to the FAQ?  Or do I really have to read it as Mb which would mean megabit? ;)
Isn\'t it possible to reduce the size by using texture compression methods and so on?
I do have cable, but 200-300MB still sounds like huge to me, especially if I compare it to RuneScape, which is less than a MB.  Also, for people with ISDN or less it\'ll hardly be downloadable...

Lode,

The demo\'s size will be around 30 MB only, so you don\'t have to worry about that now.
Nevertheless, the size of the full game will be around the 250 MB, I guess.  Comparing the PS client with the one in RS doesn\'t make any sense. The world in here will be far bigger, the models and textures will be much more complex, and many, many other things.  Perhaps there will be an option to download the client in parts, but it will still be huge,  I don\'t think there is a way to get around that one.
