My Hockey Pool
« on: October 03, 2007, 07:54:05 am »
hey guys and girls.

me and a group of friends have started an NHL hockey fantasy pool.

im unsure what to do so im gunna ask everyones opinion, hopefully theres some hockey nuts in the community.

currently my roster:

Cammalleri, Michael
Lecavalier, Vincent
Savard, Marc
Iginla, Jarome
Niedermayer, Scott
Whitney, Ryan
Fleury, Marc-Andre
Marleau, Patrick
Hasek, Dominik

now my question is, I have Scott Niedermayer, im debating either keep him and see what happens, trade him for Bryan Rafalski, or trade him for Chris Chelios. they seem like good defencemen this season, aside from the usual stars, which have been picked already. im all for any ideas, on this situation, or trades on any of my players. also, i can only trade players for another player in their position. so forward for forward, defence for defence, and goalie for goalie.

Too bad you have nobody from Ottawa on your team team. Of course this may be a big let-down year for them. A lot of your players seem to be past their prime. Chelios is like the oldest player in the league. If you are lucky Hasek will be healthy but he has a recurring groin injury and may spend some time on the bench. If you have the timeit is a good idea to buy one of those hockey magazines that give the stats for the players, career and last season. If you are serious about this you will definitely want one of those. Another good resource in the nhl website and the teams sites too. There is a lot of fluff and rosy projections on the team sites but also good hard information. TSN has good info and ESPN should have some too but the best stuff will likely come from Canadian sites.
