Dying and stuff

A change to the effects of food. Eating 100 loaves of bread shouldn't REALLY bring you back from the brink of death. I would go so far as to say if you ate that much of the same food in such a short period you would be sick. I think (important words there) food should only heal hp down to 50% after that it has no effect other than to keep your stamina up (wish should fall if you are on less than 10% hp). If on under 50% you should need greater health care to bring your hp back up and it shouldn't regain slowly as it does now. Under 25% your health should go down slowly. You should get knocked down by monsters the same way you do in a dual. When in this position you can ONLY /die and talk in main, if you have stamina (and /shout and /say use stamina in this position). After 30 seconds you go tot he death realm, though this could be sooner if the monster you are fighting is carnivorous and eats you (there should be a short period still so you can be saved by another player). Some races should have the advantage that certain monsters don't eat them. All these things give an advantage to people who choose to work together.

I know this has been discussed many times. However this is my interpretation of it. I don't feel the current system is satisfactory.

Should food help to heal wounds anyway? Perhaps a hunger stat should be introduced.

I like that idea. Foods should help energy, not health. If we want this to be a realistic (in a fantasy way) kind of roleplay, then we need to make it like so. Only certain herbs/plants eaten or rubbed on a wound should heal.

If your character doesn't eat for a specific amount of time (let's say, three days Yliakum time, but only if you're logged on), your energy would automatically go to 75%, which would go to 50% a few days after that. Also, if you don't eat for a week in Yliakum, your health will begin to deteriorate... This would all affect drinking, too, but more dramatically, as you're supposed to drink a gallon of water or something like that every day.

Prince, maybe your character could get fat 'n chubby if he/she ate too many loaves of bread.  ;D

I suspect that the only vegetarians in medieval society were those who were too poor to afford meat. This is off topic in this thread, though, if you really want to discuss it perhaps start a thread in General Discussion: "Vegetarianism Within PS, Pros and Cons"; or some such thing.

I admit my post was intended to be humorous.

How about no timed HP gain unless mental and physical stamina are both at 100%, Also, i would add that you'd need 50% or more physical Stamina in order gain mental stamina and 100% mental to gain physical past 75%. Hence certain foods would help one or the other or both and thus reduce rest time for stamina and eventual HP gain.

I like the idea of food only having limited healing adilities or none. If food had no limits on it's healing power the profesions  alchemy and Herbology would not be nearly as effective since thier the main source of healing potions. Also as stated before food restoring stamina is a very good idea.

Soylent Green is Kran!  :o

Sorry, couldn't resist. Either way I think it's more like people are mammals... but, they also eat mammals! Krans are mineral based but they also eat other different types of minerals.

@Bilbous: The Kran description page says --> "They can also eat food full of mineral salts like seaweed." So, I guess Krans aren't perfect either. :P
