Ofcourse things chance and that is why it's good to keep an eye out for those things. That is what keeps things interesting, but you'll also have to admit that they are also often small changes and seeing how big planeshift is these days it will probably be more rewarding to explore when you have been several changes then trying to find something new everyday.
Atleast that is the way I like doing things as some maps are a bit far away to go there and find nothing and lose that time for roleplaying and such
