Sound doesn't work. Fedora 7 x86_64

My sound works normally for other applications such as system sounds, vlc, etc.  But I can not get it to work with this game.  I followed the tip suggested elsewhere of removing libasound.so.2 in libs and replacing it with a symbolic link to /lib64/libasound.so.2 but it did not help.  Still no sounds from the game.

do you have other programs which run sound running at the same time as Planeshift? Linux has never been good at running multiple sound sources at once.

I have the exact same problem. anyone found a fix to this? (no I'm not running any other applications.)
