Guildhouse log
« on: March 22, 2008, 04:58:32 pm »
I was wondering of the possibility of the idea. If there was a way in which a guild house or a (future house could be adjusted to keep in log for the main key holder,  key holders, and/or owners. At least until such time as the game is completed (and due to the occasional game bugs). Or maybe the possibility of a a non-player character placed inside the guild houses as a maid so to speak that can keep a log that can be accessed by guild members. I think it would be a nice addition to an already great feature.

If it was possible, the use of a non-player character or even an item placed in a guild house could keep a record of all who entered and/or all actions taking place inside the guild house (or house). That can be accessed by key holders or GM's for easy reference.

Another idea  that may not be as complicated may be the use of a sigh-in log vs the key to access the guild house. In which the owner or guild leader would possess  a few keys to hand out, but the door uses a sigh-in log in which they enter the  names allowed members and/or household. Then the member (household) would have to enter and log-in their correct name to gain access. And the log could be accessed by a /Use command giving the name/time/date of everyone who has entered.

kinda lost me...

you're saying you want some type of way to check on the following in game while you were out and about (offline):

1)who has keys to the house
2)who's the main owner of the house
3)who came in to visit/at what time
4)if they placed or removed anything from the house while they were there
5) etc.

??

I don't see it as such a bad idea, if done properly... say as if there was a maid type npc or something in the house keeping an eye on things for you.  course, if there was one, then they'd need their monthly pay.  npc shouldn't work for free now.

:)

Yes that is what I meant thank you. ...and I agree on the payment idea too.

But that leads to an improved thought. The maid/butler/housekeeper being able to be used in also in a fashion similar to the already running bank system. So it future additions it could double in use as a guild bank. Where the players or members of the guild could deposit their trias and/or items. But by using a guild bank they would not have access to those items and funds from the world bank. So the two would never be connected. The player would have to go to the house in order to get those funds/items.

The functions would be as such;

Keep an accessible log of all who entered
keep an accessible of all in house actions
Operate as a guild house bank
Operate as a guild house storage

[and if they are paid regularly they will notify the aurities of an illegal entry :) ]

But what happens if your maid gets seduced by the charming rogue who sneaks in while you are out and "forgets" to mention him when you come home....?
