Ultima Online (3 years): - To me before the radical changes of spliting the world into a pvp and non pvp server, it would have to be the best and most fun MMORPG i had played. Downsides however are small world, limited things to do besides monster killing and saveing for a house (however that was changed alot recently, and is changing now as well), Rampant houseing devlopment makes the World landscape look like the bronks \"For sooth where are the monsters?, this urban sprawl is blocking my vision\". pre- PvP split, you could Roleplay VERY effectivly (although few did), now however its not as fun. UO is no longer run by Origins, of Richard Garriot fame, since it was bought out by EA like every other game development company in existance, EA are EVIL!. the result o this buy out was that EA sacked all the GM\'s, and volunteer Guides and event planners... basicly screwing the game up
. Then there was that lets go 3D expansion crap, and the now indeffinately halted Ultima Online: Origins (ie UO2) project, another thing EA deemed not needed... and it was looking so damn promising.

EverQuest (would be pushing on almost 4 years nows):- While its not visual the best, and most of its content is geared to the 50+ (up to 50 its pretty much exp grind as fast as you can then find a guild), although i have had some fun and memorable groups on the way to my 50\'s. Its not all that bad. GM events are few and far between if not non exsistant, basicly L3wt hording (if you can get your hands on the good stuff) and Guild oriented. Fun to a point none the less, the Legends of Yekesh expansion relessed recently was very good, and was geared to the lower levels.

Dark Age of Camelot (european version):- (about 4 months, since its my brothers account and he was playing it for a few months before me since he was bored):- Takes what is bad in EQ and makes it good, some imbalance, not as large a world, graphicaly the best on the market currently. RvR is just to fun, however people remake characters alot just to stay in the first battleground, since there is no point to high level RvR untill 50 and by then your to bored to actualy go do it

Dransik (Free Beta test):- not bad but EXP curve is HUGE, looks ugly though.

Dark Ages (1 week trial):- Looks good, has interesting player government system, alot of people are very L3wtish in attitude, players have to be sponsered by others to become a member of there profession. Still pretty much kill kill kill, has lots of GM events however.

Elemental saga (Free beta, Development has been suspended):- From teh makers of Dark Ages, looked interesting but little character customization, lag was very up and down, and PKing was rife in the higher maps. Steep EXP curve

NwN is currently my most favourite, but ive been screwing around with the Dialogue.tlk file due to makeing some mod\'s for it, and cant be bothered reinstalling, result is the patch update wont work... The Gamespy system is for getting your machine in contact with others machines they dont run servers, there basicly a matching service. Once you are connected to teh host server your looking for, gamespy has nothing to do with you
, so player size is limited by the machine owned by who ever made the gameserver, and some are running MMORPG style worlds, although most limit players to around 60, ie played on one that boasted 100+ but there was never more than 15 of us on anyway ^_^
Horizons WAS good, before they fired most of the staff and started to turn it into a EQ/WoW wannabe with most of the ideas that made the original so good now being relagated to the Dustbin (Goblins, God system, magic system, Lemurians, Race Wars etc). WHAT DID THEY DO TO THE DEMONS AND ANGELS RACE... now they have lace wearing goth wannabe vampire/demon things that smack of EQ Darkelves, and women that appeal to teh juvenial players with there unnatural jellies... Good game ruined by corporate suits and there demagraphics.
World of WarCraft is so far the best on teh upcoming market, its been in development for a long time and they will finnish when they finnish, and since Blizzard are there own publishers they dont have to worrie about the Suits at the top telling them what to do. Just have a problem with the majority of prospective players being Diablow L33tists.
