Hi,
to make it short. I had a few ideas how the roleplay regarding robberies / bad characters could be improved. This is what came to my mind:
1) All items could have a kind of status-field that states if it can be robbed or not (settable by the owner). Let's say, people who trained thievery would (with more training) more likely see those inventory items (or more of the items with that status in one players inventory). This way, the owner himself could decide what he wanted to "give" a robber without knowing before a robbery happens. This could include a certain amount of money, say, it is okay for me if somebody with enough practice can rob an amount of tria up to 100 or something like that. Certainly that "could" be abused by some, but still the owner has control over what he wants to "give" so to say and such behaviour should only be oncouraged in a roleplay-manner (meaning that stealing without doing or saying anything should be discourage; writing that he/she sneaks up to the victim could be an example. Or writing something after the robbery, like "x runs away snickering" could be another). Ah yes, and quest-items should be excluded from robbery.
2) items could have a "possibility"-factor of being taken away. Not as good as the first idea imho, but... Well, let's say precious items are very, very unlikely to be robbed (as these would be the ones the owner would guard best). But things like mugs for example or a percentage of your money should be very easy to get. That is kind of the same idea as above. Say, the owner can agree that maybe 1 percent of his current tria are (theoretically) possible to be taken away.
What came to my mind also, using a status-field as stated in (1) might also make other things easier. Think about the tavern were one char buys some drinks. He can't do something like putting all the drinks on the table, so all of his companions just take one. He must "trade" with every single one. But with the first solution he could.
Or (just a funny thought) think about somebody putting down some platinum ores at the mine... Could be funny
