My first character I used my standard internet nickname and while I got some flack from one person in particular bilbous is still there. I tend to prefer singular names but that is not allowed anymore, I guess. One character I named a sound-alike for my real name, bilj does not get in game much. Another, a klyros I gave a suitably birdy name with a last name that could be read two ways, Peregrine Fastalker don't get in much. Characters created to test one thing or another get random names pure and simple. More recently characters have had descriptive name, you won't see Prolix Fanfaron in the game much but he is a windy blowhard anyway. Some I create from their given profession, who would know that Fuudie Ladler is a cook or Klozie Wazher does laundry? Others may reflect their personality like Cann Crouse is a little testy (c[ont]ankerous). You don't need to have a stellar name but it does not hurt.

Some of these name may be suspect in the eyes of the policy but mostly I think they pass.

Bilbous is by far the most advanced.

Most of my character names are purely random, but not from a random name generator.... I just make Random syllables until it forms a cool name. Only my character Farren was otherwise, and actually his first name was sorta like this as well. But names like Cerientos Kalavar and Zakk Fayanrah, those are random. Oh, and then there is my dwarf Redden Smallman... His name is an IC pun as he was named by Farren, named for what he saw when he found him, a red and small man >.> Redden has lots of red hair + beard.
