Game issues, not loading, crashing, etc. HELP!
« on: July 07, 2008, 07:59:06 am »
I'm so fustrated, I've tried almost everything on this page to get this game to work, and it just effing hates me. I've had every problem in the book so far, from installation to that annoying OpenAL32.dll crap.

so anyways, what I've done so far, I've installed version 4.01, I've changed the updater.xml value to "true" I've updated the game, I've changed the game to fullscreen mode, I've lowered the settings for my computer.

So now the issues are...
When I try to make a character, I will go through some steps, such as picking races and stuff, and after about 5 minutes, the game will tell me "Fragrenetics not responding, try again in 5 minutes", this is fustrating cuz I actually LIKE the idea of being able to set up a backstory for my character, and I would really like to take the time to do it nicely.
So I've tried rushing through it, just to get to the game and see what it's like, and NOW during the loading screen right after I click "join" it will begin loading, then about a quarter of the way through the loading bar will stop, and after about 5 seconds, either the game screen goes black, and nothing happens, and then I'll have to alttab and a little window will ask me if I want to save a diagnostic... etc. or my moniter will shut off and tell me there is no input signal, and I'll have to entirely restart my computer.
Yay.

I'm using a computer I built from parts, I can through in a screenshot of dxdiag, or post them if you need, but I KNOW my computer can run this. Sorry if I sound really B**chy but I REALLY want to try this game, I'm really excited for it, but I've never dealt with so many bugs EVER! :'(

*Edit*
Just some system specs. I could REALLY use the help :(

Operating System:  Windows XP SP2
Processor:  Intel P4 1.70Ghz
Graphics Card:  RADEON 9600 SERIES
System Memory:  768MB
Video Memory:  128 MB

check your internet connection, most of this sounds like your internet is not stable enough to let you play. Lately the server has gotten much more stable and can be up for hours at the time before crashing. Also try to update your graphics card drivers.

Well, I've been able to play many other ftp mmos, I've had SWG, WoW, GunZ, Rappelz, Flyff, etc. All of these work just fine so far, I just wanted something more unique, I'll try updating the graphics card drivers tho.
