:D Then you play on ezpcusa without me. That's why we have two servers now.  \\o//

what's the current default when setting up an account?  Seems to be straight to fragnetics..correct?

as a new person, it probably would have been better for me to have began on a server such as ezpc...to learn my way around, learn the mechanics etc.  And then, since my interests are RP my character, I could move on over to fragnetics and be able to focus on roleplaying my character and learning settngs, instead of coming up with creative ways to ask which buttons to push in what sequence.

Recently met a new player who was trying their best to follow the fragnetic policy, so I took him to Kada's, and they were taken aback with all the "{you are OOC!] flying through the air.  He/she was then like, "i don't think RP is my main focus at this point, especially with the conversations I see now"

I started to explain that it wasn't really always like this, but, to a new person, it often is....so I checked myself and instead mentioned ezpc, and said perhaps he/she should give it a look.  Then I had to search all over to get the link...after finally getting it, they were very thankful and appreciative, and seemed to be headed off to a new positive start instead of bailing.

So, perhaps for new people, ezpc should perhaps be recommended by Xargon and have the web address for registering listed?  He lists some other address, so the one for ezpc would fit in nicely.

Or even have a blurb on the accounts page with links to both, giving suggested advice for a starting point, explaining the benefits and focus of each option.

Thus giving them an option to learn in a more conducive environment, and then, if they'd like, come on over to fragnetics and get into the RP scene.

Or perhaps they would decide to stay on ezpc and add to the community there.

The entry for EZ-PC should be added to the client on the next update. Its all very new right now.
Nobody should judge the server if they are not actually playing over there.
Its a good server, and the same game. The point about it being a sandbox for Laanx is a good one.
The smart thing to do would be to mirror RP guilds and characters on the new server in the future.
Branding players with labels is only going to miss out on recruiting good RP talent for Laanx.
I solidly believe in the entire community, and I trust that things are going to balance out.

EZPCUSA Server for Planeshift
New registration page. Separate accounts, database, et cetera.

http://planeshift.ezpcusa.com/register

Add a line in your servers.xml (you can find it in the same folder of the planeshift application under the "data").
Add this line in there after the fragnetics entry and before </serverlist>:

<server name="Ezpcusa" ip="planeshift.ezpcusa.com" port="7777" />

We aren't mirroring guilds on ezpcusa, the choice was made to leave it blank to gain new metrics on player progression.

you dont need to add anything anywhere, just run the updater and all will be done for you. including some map updates.

It's a bad idea anyway because it would split resources.

I like helping new people, probably 20-50% of my prefered activities ingame.

Was going to mention that anyone who would need help, will not be on ezpcusa yet, because by the time they find the link, they have played on fragnetics for quite a while, and have already dug deep into the forums.

Thoss mentioned why. (see his post) That is why it is sparse there for now.  as long as we are patient, and give this time, I predict that eventually a lot of people will be on both servers.  Currently ezpc is exactly the same as Laanx, except y our character is new, and there is almost no one to talk to, IC or OOC.

When new people can choose easily, and there is a difference in content and community, I bet it will get more balanced in numbers.  Esp since it is hard for people who grind to walk away from their almost maxed characters,.... IMO.  But bamko is there, along with Eye Spy, the Olde English pirate Kran (rarely, and for fun) Arrr, ahoy! how farrrrrest thee, bilge rat?  ar ar ar ar (laughing)

grind up a bit, and wait for the changes to come, I bet people will come when something to see.  "oh, you see the flying klyros on ezpc? " what... OMG... <making account there now>

hehehe

Thanks, Caarrie. I didn't notice that last time I ran the updater, probably because I already added the entry manually.  Thanks, Xillix, I didn't mean "mirror" as a technical term in this case. Probably should have said "re-create", as I meant the players doing that themselves.

Well the Order of the Odd Cod exists on both servers in slightly different forms, but that is literally just me. :)
