I have an Intel Imac Model Name:   iMac
  Model Identifier:   iMac5,1
Processor Name:   Intel Core 2 Duo
  Processor Speed:   2.16 GHz
  Number Of Processors:   1
  Total Number Of Cores:   2
  L2 Cache:   4 MB
  Memory:   1 GB
  Bus Speed:   667 MHz
  Boot ROM Version:   IM51.0090.B09
  SMC Version (system):   1.9f4
  Serial Number (system):   QP7241HSVUW

After playing the game for 15 to 20 minutes the Combat sounds dissapear. I have used the Ps-Fix,app and applied sound fix but this does not solve the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution to the problem?

Yes, certainly, although it seems to me 15-20 minutes is pretty soon.
I would estimate my sound disappears after  roughly an hour (average time).
I can always just restart planeshift to get the sound back. For you,
if the sound disappears so quickly, that might not be a good option.

I am sorry, I am not sure what to do regarding this problem, the obvious thing to try
being fiddling around with the sound settings in the configuration files, more exactly
<your_home_folder>/Library/Application_Support/Planeshift/psclient.cfg

!!! make a backup copy you can revert to if something goes awfully wrong !!!

I will fiddle around a little myself the next days, and get back to you, please be patient though,
I am not spending very much time in the game atm. Regards,

p.s.: what I am trying right now is whether the sound-disappearance also takes place when
I have the core-audio setting enabled. Just trial and error, educated guessing at best  ;)
