On the Road to the Bronze Doors- an oasis in the wilds
« on: February 04, 2009, 06:40:24 am »
Greetings Fellow Travellers~

I would like to suggest an OASIS, in the wilds, somewhere between Hydlaa and the Bronze Doors. Why?

Because the caravans pass through there {opportunity for GM roleplays}, and some wily merchants like say Grok {NPC options for 'traveling NPCs} might find kra's way there of a time to sell goods or herbals. Or enterprising folks, like Addeline, who be extraordinary good cooks and bakers- have ye tasted her sand cookies or her pies? Now she might get the use of a tent or a table or such from time to time when folks be traveling to Festival days or tournaments.

Because it be a long road, tho oft traveled, and there be lakes and such along the way, and most would find refreshment in an ale or an apple there. {makes sense in Yliakum}

Because others of our townsfolk, like say Allelia, or our merchants or guild members might upon occasion enjoy the respite of a night's safely and comfort there, upon some Ojaveda rug or pillows, to rest they heads and dream of the mighty Fortress. {no need for major dev - add some tables, tents and such, stick in an NPC or two, there ye have it!}

Because there be other settlements springing up... like the gobble town {who knew them could build houses?} or when Jayarp and he wife set up shop instead of just loitering around a certain doorway. So certainly some enterprising entrepreneurs might set up traveling sales for those upon the roads?'

Because there be safety in numbers in the wild lands, and tho an occasional tefusang or ulbernaut might hang around an oasis campfire looking fer scraps, then others might be awake and nae too much in their cups to arose the sleepers and fend off dangers of the night. Or, Xiosia forbid, if some band of Rogues or Brigands might approach, looking fer easy targets, unprotected, out alone on the roads.

And the Guards and Squadrons, as they pass to and fro their tours of duty at the Fortress, might find a bunk or a barrack and some comforts... ahem... afore they take up arms again fer long hours protecting us all from ... well, that evil must remain nameless. Certainly we of this land should take care o our warriors at arms, should we not?

What do ye think?

Humbly, I be,

Roled Rolak

There is now the explorers outpost to serve this purpose, it is a relatively safe place to be, there are beds, and a place to cook even. All people are welcome, so fell free to stop there.
