The tutorial furnace isn't working

The iron ore would not become molten ever. I watched it for at least 10 minutes on the furnace, did something else with it minimized, closed the game, ate lunch, came back and it still wasn't molten. Please, I cannot finish the tutorial.

Hi there, was that a typo or did you really put the ore on the furnace? Because that will never
work.
You have to put it inside, following the instructions Naeve gave you.

The furnace has been tested and is working properly. Make sure you are using the furnace as intended (also mentioned above). Also, if you are still having issues, you can try asking in the help channel or doing /who game when online to see if a game master is on to assist you.

note also that logging out will disable the trasformation: the server doesn't continue if the worker isn't there

Is this new and/or only in the tutorial? I wonder if it is now safe to have the furnace full of ores and then return some minutes later after a server crash. (Earlier this was always panic time to hope one gets the ores out again quick enough )
